GB’s First Ever on Snow World Champion

In Feb 2023 Infury Sleddogs travelled to Italy to compete at the WSA on Snow World Championship in Vermiglio Italy. Having put the disappointment of last year’s championship and equipment failure this would be the first time Matt raced 4 dogs in Snow. Having been warned how fast and technical the trail was Matt ran run one cautiously and was sitting in 3rd place. On run 2 he threw caution to the wind and gave it his all praying his sledding skills held up and he didn’t crash out. The gamble paid off with the dogs flying into a big lead over his rivals into first place. Just needing a clean safe run on the 3rd run to secure Gold all went to plan and Matt becomes GBs first ever on snow World Champion.

Matt also competed in the 2 dog 2 category with his girl Rogue and a fellow competitors Dog Grabben. As a scratch team that had never run together before they started steadily sitting in 4th after 1 run, moving up to 3rd after 2 runs and flying in the 3rd run to take Silver in the 2 dog 2 category. These two medals helped GB to achieve its highest ever medal tally at a Sleddog World Championship.
